Letters from the Heart
In which Teófilo explains to his readers his future plans for this Substack.
Greetings, All:
In this rare midweek post, I want to share what’s next now that I’ve finished the pre-draft of my memoir. Before diving into the first full draft, I’ve decided to step back and recharge. A break now will give fresh creativity a chance to rise.
This pause won’t stop me from writing here on Substack. Here’s what I’ll do: I’ll write letters—heartfelt ones—to all of you. Letters about anything, all from my Catholic point of view. I’ll share updates on my memoir, reflections on Christ and my life in Him, and stories of the saints. I’ll write about books I’ve read, poems I’ve loved, and thoughts on Scripture, Church tradition, and doctrine. I’ll touch on current events when needed, and even muse about the weather, space, astronomy, physics, music, and genealogy—whatever’s on my heart.
Oh, and I've been using AI to produce a variety of comics and opinion cartoons. I look forward to sharing those with you too.
This is what I'll do different: I'll try to keep my letters at 500 words or less. I'll keep them short but meaningful, I hope. I'll post them every Sunday. In the future, I look forward to writing you twice a week.
I also look forward to hearing from you. I love getting feedback and starting good conversations.
I'll leave you with one thought: If you refuse to love, you cannot know God. Because God is Love.
The very basis of knowing God is to love. Love goes beyond any argument or evidence you could ever want—or demand—for His existence. No other human activity will help you to know God except for love. Start by loving others as you love yourself—begin with those closest to you—and you’ll see that love lifts us beyond ourselves.
Love makes us transcendent.
May the love of God, the grace of Christ, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be and remain with you.
Peace,
~Theo
